Codex of an Imaginary Future of Bath

I was inspired to create a place to share possible ideas to change the face of Bath after reading about the work Leonardo da Vinci did designing an ideal city.

Leonardo wanted a comfortable and spacious city, with well-ordered streets and architecture. He recommended “high, strong walls”, with “towers and battlements of all necessary and pleasant beauty”, and felt the place needed “the sublimity and magnificence of a holy temple” and “the convenient composition of private homes”.
His vision fused architecture and engineering and built in artificial canals throughout the city. The width of the streets should match the height of the houses.

Bath is aptly placed to use the river and canals, build on the pleasure gardens and create a new way of traversing the city. It is a learned city full of history, architecture and books.
