Hartwells Urban Green Space

The development of the Hartwells garage to an over populated area, that will increase pollution and traffic, create unsafe access to public transport, decrease healthy living and increase the number of student rooms on Airbnb is lacking in foresight for the future of a healthy living and community space for the city.
I believe Bath should become a city of please parks which demonstrates its commitment to a balanced lifestyle. The National Trust and National Lottery Heritage Fund are running a programme to secure the future of urban parks and green spaces. Bath was a city that excelled in this. Why not again?

Public urban green spaces are growing in use and two hours a week, spent in green spaces has been shown to improve health and well-being. Let us launch our future parks programme and be bold and create a new pleasure park. Something to be proud of. The Hartwells site is difficult to build on in a quarry \ railway cutting. What an amazing opportunity to create a park with outside trim trail, water features for calming, trees and flowering bushes with an industrial arts trail. A bandstand for the summer days. Convert Hartwells garage to a children friendly café with a view over the park. Include a local corner shop in the building for groceries and papers. This should be a place for young and old alike creating that much sort after place for tranquility and healthy community living. What an amazing use of an old railway cutting to transport people to a new era.

Be creative, Be bold, Be green.
