A Bio-dome to Elicit Innovation

On a trip to Seattle for work I had the amazing opportunity to see two amazing ideas to elicit innovation and creative thinking. How amazing it would be for Bath to have two such places to help inspire the next generation.

The Amazon Spheres are three spherical conservatories that are part of the Amazon headquarters campus in Seattle. There are three glass domes are covered in pentagonal hexecontahedron panels. Inside the sphere it is a diverse bio-dome with forest, canopy walk, as walking helps to think, a birdcage and a place to be able to see the sky and have a 360 degree view.

The Microsoft Treehouses are the other cool idea. They are outdoor districts connected to building on campus. One sits in a Pacific Northwest Douglas fir, while another is 12 feet above the ground. They have a gingerbread-house feel including a fireplace and wood canopies where you can also see the canopy of the trees through a skylight.
